Nonprofit Curriculum

As a collaborative effort, Virginia Tech’s Nonprofit and Civil Society Program, the Center for Nonprofit Advancement Learning and Leadership Institute and AED’s BizLaunch Program will provide nonprofit business workshops and training. Initially, there will be five core courses: Law and Legal Basics, Nonprofit Financial Management, Fundraising 101, Basics of Strategic Planning and Basics of Good Governance. Additional core courses can be scheduled and curriculum added as needed. Courses will be:

  • Provided free to staff or board members of an Arlington-based nonprofit organization or a nonprofit organization not based in Arlington but which serve members of the Arlington community (verified by staff recommendation).
  • Offered for $79 to all others. Nonprofit organizations will receive enrollment priority.

The two-hour hour courses will be offered during lunchtime when possible at the Central Library, 1015 N. Quincy Street, Arlington, VA (703) 228-5990. A full description of each course and the 2007 schedule can be found below
