Based on remittances to Arlington County from the Virginia Department of Taxation. Of the 5% sales tax assessed on most taxable sales in Virginia, 1% is remitted to localities. These figures do not include adjustments from prior yearsÂ’ sales tax receipts misallocated to other localities.
